The Practice Bridge: Foundations to Intermediate (5 weeks)

Next intake:
Feb 1 to Mar 1, 2026 (every Sunday, 4 - 6 PM)

Teacher: Suellen Zhang

Investment: $330 (All 5 Sessions) or $72 (Drop-in One Session)

Location: Little Mandarin Blackburn

A small-group, alignment-first program designed to bridge the gap between foundational understanding and confident intermediate practice.

This course is for students who already know the shapes, but want to move with more clarity, strength, and intelligence. Through close guidance and hands-on adjustments, we take time to explain how and why each action works, then allow longer practice blocks to lock in the skill.

Across five themed weeks, you will slow down to refine key alignment principles, receive clear tactile and verbal cues, and practise progressive sequences that build strength, mobility, and confidence — both in class and in your own practice.

Who this is for

  • Practitioners returning after a break who want to rebuild with clarity

  • Regular students ready to move beyond basics with more precision

  • Teachers-in-training strengthening alignment and self-practice skills

What you will learn

Five themes across five weeks. Each session layers technique, breath, and intelligent strength so you understand what to do — and why it works.

  • Week 1: Staying Grounded | Standing Postures

  • Week 2: Folding and Wringing It Out | Forward Folds & Twists

  • Week 3: The Subtle Art of Balancing | Balancing Postures

  • Week 4: Airing Out the Heart | Heart Openers

  • Week 5: Building Strength Intelligently | Upper Body & Core

Outcomes

By the end of this program, you will have:

  • Practical strength in the core and shoulders

  • A safe, repeatable home practice you can progress independently
