Mat Yoga

(For everyone)

Yoga Basics

Yoga Basics emphasises alignment, breathing techniques, basic poses and everything else you need to become familiar with yoga and feel confident in our other mat classes! Some pranayama, chanting and meditation may be included.

Suitable for beginners students with or without yoga experience looking to have an invigorating physical and mental practice. Fundamental standing poses and seated poses with some basic backbends and preparations for inversion poses are taught.

If you are new to yoga, this is a great place to start! If you have a regular practice, yoga basics is a great way to review the fundamentals of poses.


Slow Flow

(For all levels)

A creative and therapeutic Slow Flow suitable for all levels. This class is designed to bring balance to the body and the mind through holding poses for longer and exploring what each pose has to offer you through a slower paced practice. By moving super slowly, we learn to move intelligently, listen to our bodies and explore our potential.

If you have some experience in yoga or have been attending our basics classes for a while and want more of a challenge, why not try one of our Slow Flow classes.


FLOW

(For those with some experience)

Integrate alignment, movement, core-strength, and awareness through Flow. Keep the body fully engaged in the present moment through this moving meditation by synchronising breath with movement and becoming strong and resilient both on and off the mat. By focusing on breath leading the movement, we learn to quiet the mind and stay in the present moment.

Designed to warm your body though moderate pacing and subtle reminders to move from your centre, activate the energetic and literal centre of your balance and strength through this invigorating practice!


Dynamic Flow

(For intermediate yoga practitioners with a consistent Vinyasa practice)

Dynamic Flow is a higher intensity class which can challenge the students with stronger, longer holds, core practice, faster-paced flowing and advanced postures. All yoga props and accessories including the aerial hammock may be used for deepening your practice. 

Recommended for students with a regular yoga practice or those wanting to take their practice to the next level.


Yin

Unwind and let go in this practice designed for reaching beyond the surface and stretching the connective tissues. Yin classes are the perfect way to balance dynamic, yang-based flow classes. 

During Yin classes, floor postures are held for 4-6 minutes, enabling muscles to soften by targeting joint and ligament stress points. By holding poses for longer periods of time, a sense of surrender is cultivated.

Yin is a deeply therapeutic practice that aids stress management, boosts energy and helps balance the functions of the body while opening meridians, improving blood circulation and relieving fatigue.

Aerial Flow

(Recommended for students with some yoga experience)

Aerial Flow combines traditional asanas with the used of a hammock. The hammock reduces the effects of gravity and stress in the joints and the spine; it also helps to build upper body and core strength and provides a medium for deep relaxation. Students are advised to wear tops with sleeves to protect the skin from rubbing against the fabric. In some classes, additional gear with handle bars may be used to aid the alignment of certain yoga postures. Some pranayama, chanting and meditation may be included.

Suitable for students with some yoga experience looking to have an invigorating practice. Some supported inversions and advanced postures may be introduced, with options for beginner students to ease the transition.

Please note that it is necessary to arrive 15 minutes early before class so the hammock height can be adjusted to an appropriate level.
